Winning a Missing Cup

Well we did it. We won the Valentine's Cup. Our final game of hockey was intense. First two periods holding a tie score, coming ahead in the third with a 7 to 4 lead. Wow

My husband and I attended the awards dinner and dance last night. We had an enjoyable evening, although we we're awarded a dud.
It seems the last two years the Ladies Valentines Cup, which is large and heavy similar to that of the Stanley Cup has gone missing. With 31 years of Valentines Cup play-offs it is large and heavy enough not to be easily misplaced, so one would think. Well, it is missing, and noone seems to have any idea where it went. Therefore for the awards dinner they awarded us with a replacement prop. Noone knowing the difference except on close inspection.
It really didn't matter in the moment but today I am puzzled by the unresolved mystery of our Cup. In a town of only 1400 people this trophy could not be easily overlooked, lost or otherwise.
What would you do with such a trophy, and why do you think it went missing?

Congratulations! Woohoo, you did good. So now what's next? The Olympics? And I thought you couldn't skate? :)

As far as the missing cup -- someone spotted your team's determination early in the year and hid the cup rather than having to publicly relinquish it at a formal ceremony. Could it be?

Thanks.

The Olympics sounds great, if they had the housewife team.

I thought maybe someone might be serving up potatoe salad in our cup, as it would make a great conversation, and center piece for entertaining guests.
